WHAT IS THE MISSION?

The mission is to make fundamental changes to an environment sorely lacking in all the essential properties necessary to call itself a community. By focusing on the individuals within the community, we will curate a "collective mindset" that will produce the results needed for change. The assumptions and ideas that propel this mission are produced through data-driven insights and are a part of a change management process that will be challenging but rewarding. The focus of this mission involves five major points or "pillars" and those are: Health, Wealth, Community, Unity and Accountability. Below a summary of each pillar and opportunities for transformation are listed.
5 PILLARS OF MODIFICATION
Wealth

•Financial Intelligence has to be raised in order to push the community forward. We have to  make members of the community more competent in the following areas:

  • Stock Market/Investing

  • Saving/Couponing

  • Insurance

Community

•We have to repair the bonds that are already in a fragile state in the community. This will require re-establishing historical and cultural heritage, as well as, increasing collaboration amongst members of the community. We can start to re-establish a communal attitude through some of the following methods:

  • EVERYONE decides the direction of the community

  • Cultivation of the youth

  • Beautification projects

  • Increase black ownership

  • Uplift the black woman

Health

•Health awareness has to cater to a newer generation but benefit the older generation. These are some of the additions to the community will help propel it forward as we begin to focus on disease rates that are on the upswing:

  • Juice Bar

  • Natural/Clean eating

  • Yoga

  • Meditation

  • Mental Health

Unity

•We have to rebuild the foundation of the community through the mutual acceptance of a collectivist culture. Redefining the culture will take shape through some of the following activities:

  • Creating an atmosphere of respect for everyone in the community

  • Getting neighbors in the community to know one another

  • Generational differences are put aside to improve relations between young and old

Accountability

•Leadership has an obligation to act in the best interest of the constituency it represents. The time to hold elected officials to a higher standard has passed, we MUST elect responsible leadership NOW. Acceptable standards of accountability are:

  • Visible community leadership

  • Keeping community abreast of details that affect it

  • Transparency
